    When it involves living an extended and healthy life, there are two necessary ingredients: diet and fitness. While some believe they are one thing, nothing could be further from the truth. While this is not true at all, a pound is a pound independently; a pound of muscle takes up less space in the body than a pound of fat. Pound for pound, I'd rather mine be made of muscle rather than fat. Dieting alone doesn't build muscle which are some things you'll had best to recollect in your efforts.




    You should also realize that as you build muscle, you can lose inches without showing great progress on the scale. It is vital that you simply keep this in mind throughout the load loss process. Do not measure your progress with scales alone or you will get misleading results. The problem is that too many people do exactly this and get frustrated and give up when they are really making progress. Don't allow yourself to be a victim of the scales. Look in the mirror, try on your tight pants and measure your waist. Measure your success by how you feel after climbing a flight of stairs, not by how many pounds fell off the scale this week.

    By incorporating physical fitness into your diet routine, you are also allowing your body to burn off the extra calories you have consumed throughout the day. This means that if you want to have a little "trick" during the day, you can make up for it by burning a few more calories than normal at night. This is not something that should happen frequently, but an occasional event will not make or break your diet.

    You should also consider diet and fitness as a type of ball-and-glove relationship. While you can play ball without the glove, it seems to work much better if you have both.

    Diet and fitness when combined can create fantastic weight loss results for those who take them seriously. The thing to remember is that neither of you works as well on your own and neither will work unless you are willing to do the job. You must make this a priority in your life to achieve the best possible results.
